Skylight Hotel: Club Razor (VIP section)

The Skylight Hotel had a very exclusive nightclub. It was called Club Razor and it was the hottest nightspots in Aztec Springs. It also was the place that drugs were pushed to most young adults in town. Alexander Andrews leaned back placing his boots on the table. Tonight was more than profitable. He smiled pulling out the wad of money in his pocket. His confidence was quickly shaken when he remembered how much blood was on the money in his hand. What should he care about the drug fiends? That wasn’t his place. His place was to satisfy the itch that they need. Every time he opened his mouth to help one he couldn’t. Alex had to provide for himself and if God couldn’t understand that he didn’t care.

Drea and Noah entered VIP of Club Razor and she felt like her world was right. She had officially gotten the man of her dreams back. Iraq hadn’t changed him from what she saw so far. He was still amusing and engaging as ever. “I’m going to get us a drink. What do you want?”

“Vodka on the rocks and baby you look so damn good.”

Drea switched away she was walking harder than normally. She felt his eyes on her. It was almost enhancing the mood that all he was doing was looking at her. The looks he gave her made chills run down her spine. Tonight would be worth the wait. Tonight would be unite them mind and body.

Noah looked around anxiously. His entire body was on fire. It was from a mixture of caged emotions starting to burst out of him. Then there was his other itch. An itch he developed when it numbed his pain. All he wanted was the memories to go away. Drugs were an escape and he knew he had to stop. He would stop just not now. When he looked around the room he spotted exactly what he was looking for. A drugged out girl slid a guy a twenty. He passed her a small bag and he knew. He knew he’d just found a new connect.

Noah walked over to Drea and met her with the drinks. Taking it out her hand he kissed her lips. Taking a sip he gulped the entire thing down. “Damn baby is this the strongest stuff he got? Baby I was in Iraq everything stronger over there. Go get me a double shot. Let me hold that.” Taking her drink and kissing her cheek.

Drea smiled as she quickly scampered off now she felt a little put off. What was Noah up too?

Noah swiftly walked over to Alex. “What’s up bro?” He slid into the booth with him.

Alex instantly tensed up who was this stiff? He invaded his space and his face showed his annoyance. “What you want?” Everything depended on this answer. How he treated him from this point on. He judged a person by their drug choice. Marijuana was the least offensive. But anything on up Alex was disgusted with.

“I need some medical pills the strongest you have.” Noah said quickly looking at his girlfriend. She was searching for him. He passed Alex a hundred dollar bill.

Alex dug into his pocket and pulled out a bottle of pills. He pulled out a bag of twenty pills and a business card. It was a fake. But it gave them his number. Under the table he slipped Noah the bag a card.

Drea walked up to Alex and Noah. “There you are baby!” She said with a pouty frown. “What’s going on?” Quickly placing a smile on her face.

“It’s good seeing you again man!” Alex got up grabbing Noah into a hug. Noah was the worst type of drug user. He was one that totally hid his addiction. That was disgusting that poor girl didn’t even know what she was in for. Alex shook his head. But then again who was he too judge?

“You too.” Noah looked down at the card. “Alex.” Letting the man go he grabbed Drea by the waist and walked away. “Come on baby.” He said with an intoxicatingly excited feeling. He had the drugs. “Baby let me run to the bathroom and we can go to Rowan’s big shindig.”

“Noah we didn’t even get to enjoy ourselves!” Drea said looking at her boyfriend with a confused expression.

“Baby I just came back can’t I be around family?” He felt she was being selfish.

“You suggested it!” Drea said looking at Noah she exhaled. “Baby let’s go. I’m being a bitch right now. I just want all of you. I don’t to begin with having you home. You’re safe and God gave me back you when I prayed for you to come home.” Drea started to cry placing her hands over her mouth.

Noah walked up to Drea and grabbed her in a deep hug. “I’m here baby. I’m right here.” He let her get all that out as he held her stiffly. “Babe we have to go. I have pee remember?”

Drea let him go and smiled. “I need go check my make-up.” She giggled. “Meet back here in five?”

“Five.” He kissed her and Noah walked into the bathroom. He walked to the stall and ripped open the bag. Noah let the thick pills slide down his throat and knew that he’d be feeling better soon. The memories of how he just manipulated his girlfriend will be gone. The feeling of shame would be gone. But most of all the memories would be numb. The flashes of Iraq would have passed from his mind.

The Mulroney Compound: The Study

She dug her hands inside of her skinny jeans and huffed a little. Cordelia couldn’t believe she was home again. She’d have to change her clothes for this party. Her tank-top and high heels wasn’t formal for her entrance back into the social scene of Aztec Springs. A slight laugh escaped her lips as she looked around. Childhood memories flooded back. She remembered where Brian chipped his tooth running from Natalie.

“Madam Cordelia!” Consuela screamed hugging her.

She was their loyal maid and she figured one day her daughters and sons would know Consuela. That woman loved their family like they were her own.

“Consuela!” She hugged her as she felt her being dragged to the study. “No I don’t want to see daddy yet!”

Cordelia whined looking at the closed oak door. Her hand touched there carved names in the wood. Her father thought of them as his walking legacy. Natalie had set the pedestal so damn high becoming a lawyer. Brian would eventually take the mantel. That left her free to do whatever she wanted too. So journalism was her career choice for now. She turned the gold plated doorknob and opened to door to see her father.

“Daddy.”

Maxwell Mulroney stood up seeing his youngest child walk into the room. His normal steel demeanor was replaced by a warm bearlike embrace. He held his daughter as he looked at his little girl. “How have you been my Princess?”

“Daddy I told you about calling me that. What self respecting woman still get’s called Princess?”

“That’s the thing to me none of my girls stop being princess to me.” He wanted nothing more than to Cordelia was returning home. “So where have you been trying to find yourself?”

“Paris, Barcelona, Rome, and London which was amazing considering granny and Kimber are there.”

Maxwell face showed grimace considering he never warmed up to his mother-in-law. “Did you find the clarity you were in search for?”

“No honestly dad I didn’t. Thomas death still bother me. We were leaving the warehouse and walking away why would they shoot him? They didn’t get any money. What did they want? It’s not in my nature to just forget that that happened to me.”

Those were the words he didn’t want to hear. He hoped her traveling around the world would give her the clarity to stop digging. Maxwell should have known better Cordelia was far too stubborn for that. She was going to ruin a lot if she discovered the truth. He exhaled.

“I know Cordelia. How about you go get dressed I guess were in for surprises tonight. With all my children back in town I’m complete.” He grabbed his daughter pulling her into another hug.

“I’ve missed you so much Princess.”

“I love you daddy.” She said with tears in her eyes.

Tommy had left her but her daddy hadn’t. It felt so damn good to be in the arms of her father. Her mind drifted off thinking of her mother’s reaction to her being home. Natalie and Brian would be happy the Mulroney’s were reunited. Letting go of her father she walked off to her old room. It was damn good to be home.

Maxwell walked to his desk and pulled out his blackberry phone. Quickly strolling through his contacts he found Alexander Andrews name. He called the young man and once his voicemail came on he started to speak into the phone. “I need to meet with you immediately you’ll have to be leaving town. Cordelia home.” He hung the phone up and took a sip of the brandy on his desk. His eyes got cold looking a picture of Thomas and Cordelia. “You never deserved my daughter and you won’t win. I won’t go down in flames for your pathetic death.” Maxwell walked to the door looking at Thomas face and cut off the light.

The Mulroney Compound: The Grand Ballroom

“The ice sculptures go over there damn it. Can any of you speak English to get it?” Genievea shouted as she stormed around the room.

The labor cost was cheaper dealing with Consuela family. She was sure feeble little Rowan would crack under the pressure. When she saw the young girl approaching her she almost lost her breath. She looked so much like Phoebe in her youth. She quickly harden herself before she approached.

“Thought anymore about my offer?” Genievea sat down at one of the elaborately decorated tables.

“Actually I have.” Rowan said looking at Genievea. “I thought about it a lot and I have an answer for you.” She said with a fiery tone. “You can go to hell you witch.”

“I’m there on vacation currently my dear.”

“You make my skin crawl. You never was this wicked to me when Cordelia was around.”

“Well Cordelia isn’t around and you never sank your claws into Brian either.” Genievea said with bite. “Listen to me darling you don’t want to open up Pandora’s Box. Trust me the sins and skeletons your father have in his closet is enough to ruin not just his life but yours. So if you’re smart you’ll heed the message. Leave my son.” Just then Genievea saw a familiar face. A face she hadn’t seen in a year.

“Cordelia!” She ran to her daughter who looked fabulous. The women embraced in a tight hug then Genievea showered her with kisses.

“My darling what are you doing here. I thought you were spending the rest of year with mother and Kimber?”

“Well it’s only once my best friend in the whole wide world marries my brother.” She said as she looking at Rowan who had the biggest smile on her face.

The girls ran into each other arms. “You look great! You have a glow to you it must be because you’re a bride. Or maybe there’s a little Brian inside of you?” Cordelia teased looking around nothing had changed. Her mother was still over the top dramatic.

“I look great look at you? Looking all European!” Rowan squealed looking at Cordelia. “No you’re right it’s not just the wedding. It’s Brian. He makes me glow inside and out. When I’m with your brother Cordelia I’m complete. He’s everything I need and want in a man. I love him with all of my heart. I’m going to marry him and nothing or no one could stop me.” She said letting Genievea know the answer was still no. “It’s us against the world.”

Cordelia turned to her mother with a wide smile on her face. She was so happy for Brian and Rowan. Yet a piece of her was jealous she’d be married to Thomas by now if he wasn’t stolen from her.

The Mulroney Compound: The Master Bedroom

Genievea hurried inside her room she heard the shower on.

“Maxwell did you know Cordelia was coming home?” She called out to her husband.

“No I didn’t but what a great surprise for Brian and Rowan.” Maxwell called out through the shower. He actually loved Rowan she brought out the responsible side out of his son. “Are the guest starting to arrive?”

“Yes and Brian still hasn’t made it.” Genievea walked to the downstairs portion of her bedroom.

It was her studio. She used to draw and paint but her mind was blank recently. How could she paint when she was focused on the past? Her eyes watered as she sat down. So long ago. So many years of pain that she had endure. She watched him build a life without her and she had to just sit back and take it. At one time she thought she’d never love again until Maxwell. Using the key around her neck Genievea unlocked the past. She pulled out an old photo. It had turned brown from age. Anyone in Aztec Springs who was anyone would know this was Anthony Stallworth.

Genievea grabbed the fireplace remote clicking it on. She walked to the fire that had started to crackle. “You broke my heart and I’ve been waiting a long time to break yours my dear.” She clutched the photograph close to her heart. Then threw the picture in the fire.

“Genievea where are my diamond cufflinks?” Maxwell called out to his wife.

She stood up knowing that she had a duty to do as a wife. But soon she wouldn’t be so nice to her old friend Anthony. Welcome to the Mulroney family Rowan she thought to herself. If she was anything like Phoebe she wouldn’t last in the dog eat dog world of the elite of Aztec Springs. Genievea knew how much damage she was about do. But what’s the fun of holding a secret this long if you didn’t torture everyone with it?

The Mulroney Compound: The Grand Ballroom

Drea and Noah held onto to each other as they walked into the ballroom which looked like something out of a fairytale. Drea instantly felt uncomfortable when she saw Cordelia. The girl was Noah first love. She held onto him tighter to let her know they were a united front.
Cordelia looked up and gasped. After all these years. She had still had a love for Noah. Looking at him brought that all back. Truth be told Tommy never held a candle to Noah. Deep down she wondered if Noah asked her back would she even still be invested in Thomas murder.

“Pardon me Rowan I think I need to see where’s my brother.” With that Cordelia was out she couldn’t stand Drea and being around Noah was still painful. They were about to pass each other and the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife.

Noah let go of Drea to grab Cordelia hand. “It’s good to see you again.”

“I’m glad you came home safe.” She said through a cracking voice as she walked away with tears in her eyes.

Noah looked back at Cordelia and then wrapped his arm around Drea again. He felt her pain still and wanted her to at least be comfortable around him. He didn’t mean to do her wrong. God if he could rewrite history he would. He thought about Cordelia a lot while he was away. He threw away their love for Drea. He loved Drea but he should of never broken Cordelia heart the way he did.

“Noah!” Phoebe Duncan screamed looking at her grandson. She held onto her husband Adam's arm as the tears instantly flowed down her face. Dear God he was safe. Adam and Phoebe rushed to Noah side.

Rowan looked over at her father with a disgusted expression but stood to see her brother. She covered her mouth with stifled cry as she started to walk toward him.

Anthony and Jennifer were dancing to the song they got married too when Jennifer heard her mother call out Noah’s name. She turned around and almost crumbled in her husband arms. Tears fell down her face as she looked at her eldest son. “He’s home.” She held Anthony.

“Son!” He screamed out looking at his boy.

Anthony always was proud of Noah. He was an amazing young man. Everything was perfect in his world now that his boy was back. Anthony never thought the day would come where his bond with Noah was always special.

The family huddled around each other as one by one they took turns showing their love to Noah. The pills had him feeling light headed. But the love he felt from his family had him even higher.

“Okay I have to breathe now.” He teased looking at his mother who still had his hand. “Mom you can let me go.”

“No… I just have to make sure this moment is real. I know so many people didn’t come home and to be blessed with you still being here.' she looking at Rowan and then grabbing Rowan's hand. “You both are adults and Mackenzie’s on her way to being one. What am I to do without you three? You three are still my babies too me.”

Adam butted in quickly looking at his grandson. “And where is the munchkin?' He asked referring to MacKenzie. 'We’ll have to trade war stories grandson. I’m sure you had some exciting adventures.”

“For sure grandpa.”

“I’ll be down for that also.” Anthony said still trying to get in good with Adam. The blood was still bad and Anthony wondered if it would ever not be.

Adam showed he was interested in Anthony but he nodded due to Jennifer being there. His daughter and grandchildren were the only reason he put up with that sneaky bastard.

“I don’t know she was supposed to be here already.” Drea spoke up feeling apart of the family.

Drea noticed how tired Noah looked. Had he been worn out from the events of the day? Or had she emotionally drained him earlier? She felt horrible for causing that scene at Club Razor earlier.

“Well Mac is always late I doesn’t surprise me she’s not on time to my engagement party.”
Phoebe and Jennifer instantly issued Rowan a look telling her to be nice about Mackenzie. Everyone knew how sensitive Mac was about her place in the family.

“I saw her she’s gotten so big. I was shocked to see her driving. I mean when I left she was still playing with Barbie.” He joked looking at his family. Today was a celebration the beginning of the Stallworth’s new life together. “I’m happy to be home.”

The Four Horsemen Casino: Outside

“My cellphone is dead can I just use the phone to call a tow truck? I have to hurry up my sister engagement party is today.” Mackenzie muttered.

On the way to the infamous Mulroney Compound she caught a flat tire. Mackenzie dialed the tow truck and walked outside. This was just great. Just what she needed. The entire family to be one place and she was the oddball out. She shook her head.

“You know I asked the bellhop if any other teens stayed here. He said no.” Caspian Grayson gave a dazzling smile.

Mackenzie had never ever been interested in boys her own age. Yet Caspian smile gave her chills. The good chills. The one’s you always remember.

“I don’t stay here I live in town with my parents. I just caught a flat and my phone is dead. So here I am.”

“Well I guess I got lucky.” He extended his hand. “I’m Caspian Grayson, and you are?”

“I’m Mackenzie Stallworth and I’ve lived here my entire life and never seen you.”

“I’m not new I lived here with my older brother. Now they’ve moved back here from California so I’m back.”

“Well Caspian how did you get…”

“My name?” He said finishing her sentence. “My mother was an avid reader her favorite character name was Caspian.”

“That’s adorable. I wish my name had some cool meaning behind it like that.”

“How did you get your name?”

“My mother lost a patient named Mac and he was my parents so she named me Mackenzie.”

“That’s pretty cool too. Your mom is a doctor.” Caspian gave her another smile. “I can fix that if you like?” He pointed to the car.

“Go for it you’re saving me money.” She smiled at Caspian walking to her car. She unlocked the trunk and a spare was inside.

“So what are you doing after this?” He asked looking at her before he started working on the car.

“I’m taking you home and were going to watch a movie.” Mackenzie stuffed her phone in her purse. So what she was missing Rowan party? All it was a whole bunch of rich people kissing each other ass and worshipping Rowan. She loved her sister but her perfection was often nauseating.

“Good to know I just made a friend.” He grabbed the car-jack and went to work.

And I just got an out for the party tonight Mackenzie thought to herself with a smile on her face.

The Mulroney Compound: The Grand Ballroom

Jennifer held Anthony hand as she watched Noah and Drea dancing.

“Something upset me earlier. I thought about the kids leaving and it drove me crazy. But I’m so proud now.” She said wiping her eyes looking at Anthony.

That was partial truth she was still upset about that call but the family being together now was amazing. She felt normal not stupid for being comforted by Anthony. She was listening to a voice. Someone who didn’t have the guts to tell her who they were.

“We have to let them go you know that? My father forced me out of the nest around Mackenzie age.”

“I thought you said your dad didn’t want you in the army?” She said looking at her husband never forgetting a word he’s said about his family.

“Well I didn’t tell him I was going to the army. Wow where is Mackenzie?” Anthony said changing the subject.

The truth was he had told so man damn lies that he didn’t know where to take the story. The funniest thing was that he started to believe the lies. He lived in them so much they became who he was.

“I don’t know,' she noticed he changed the subject. 'I don’t know but the party will be winding down soon. I hope she arrives.”

Jennifer grabbed a hold of Anthony. “It’s good to be just in your arms. The world is so scary. I just feel safe with you because I know you. You’re my husband.”

“Trust me you know me better than anyone else.”
